Golf Simulator Design & Installation in Winnetka
Golf Sim Chicago helps Winnetka homeowners think through golf simulator spaces that fit the room and the way their household uses it.
An older house near Hubbard Woods and a more recently renovated home farther west can offer very different ceiling, lighting, and circulation conditions. Neither can be assessed from the neighborhood alone.
Let the existing architecture guide the bay
Winnetka includes established homes with finished lower levels as well as homes with more open contemporary interiors. A basement with beams, mechanical runs, or a stair landing may call for a different hitting direction than a large bonus room; begin with the lowest clear point rather than the nominal ceiling height.
Near the Village Green or in the Hubbard Woods area, the planning question is still the same: where can a golfer swing safely while the screen, seating, and doorways remain usable? Discuss light control and sound if the space also serves as a family room.

Measure around what cannot move
Photograph columns, utilities, windows, and built-ins. Record width and depth along the intended ball flight, then check projector sightlines, enclosure depth, and room for both right- and left-handed players where relevant.
Begin with the Winnetka room
Share photos, rough measurements, intended golfers, and whether the room should also host movies or guests. A first conversation can compare possibilities before any equipment or installation scope is proposed.
Frequently asked questions
Can a finished Winnetka lower level keep its existing seating?
Possibly. Seating, walking routes, screen position, and the full swing area need to be mapped together; a photograph alone cannot confirm safe clearance.
Do older ceiling beams rule out a simulator?
Not automatically. Measure the lowest beam and the golfer’s actual swing path before considering a bay orientation or equipment approach.
