Golf Simulator Design & Installation in Highland Park
Golf Sim Chicago helps Highland Park homeowners compare possible rooms for practice, entertainment, or both.
Across neighborhoods near Ravinia and farther west, housing ranges from older homes to newer layouts. A finished basement and a garage can each raise different clearance and comfort questions.
Compare the spaces before committing
A basement may offer a comfortable gathering area but include soffits, stairs, or a low point in the swing zone. A garage may have more open floor space while door tracks, storage, seasonal temperature, and lighting complicate its use. Neither type is automatically suitable.
If the room is meant to welcome guests after an evening around Ravinia, discuss viewing positions and sound alongside golf safety. Plan the screen and hitting direction so visitors are not placed in the ball path.

Test the full room envelope
Record ceiling clearance at the hitting position, intended players’ handedness, and the usable distance to the screen. Then evaluate projector mounting, launch-monitor requirements, power, and network access.
Bring both options to the discussion
Photos and rough dimensions of a basement and garage let an initial consultation focus on tradeoffs rather than presume one has the right fit. A project-specific plan comes later.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Highland Park garage a year-round simulator room?
That depends on its insulation, heating and cooling, moisture conditions, door hardware, and the intended use. These should be reviewed before selecting finishes or equipment.
Can the simulator share a basement with a guest area?
It can be explored, but seating and circulation must remain outside the swing and ball-containment zones in the actual layout.
